Steve Bollinger Rhythm Wave Dance Benefit - Postscript

Rhythm Wave Dance Benefit - Postscript What a fabulous event!! After a lot of organizing and hard work we finally pulled off quite an event!! Held at the Truckee Rec Center on June 13th, Saturday, we topped out at close to 100 people attending and raised $2,345! 10% of this went to InnerRhythms for the use of their non-profit status, and for the work they do in bringing dance to kids in the community. Without their sponsorship we would not have secured the Truckee Rec Center. The other 90% goe… Continue

Nella Nencini Dancing on Safari in Kenya

I've just joined your group from over here in Kenya on the recommendation of my dear friend, Emily Headley. I grew up in Squaw Valley and now live in Kenya running my own safaris, flying small planes and writing. I thought I'd let you all know that there is dancing going on under the Umbrella Acacia trees, near the elephants and in the shadows of giraffe. I specialise in tailor-made photographic safaris to East Africa and also do absolutely wonderful trips of Yoga on Safari. I've ended up incor… Continue

Steve Bollinger Dance from the Belly

The joy of a loved one entering in The sorrow of a dear one going away The triumph of besting a challenge The disappointment of one slipping away The expectation of accomplishing a new task The loss of an opportunity missed A new relationship forming An old one fading away A birth, a death A life lived to the fullest Or not at all In the events of our lives There is much to tell In words that express our thoughts In feelings that express our emotions In movements, that tell the story of our… Continue

Pamela Astarte Alchemical 5 rhythms

When you move through the 5 rhythms: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, Stillness something very magical occurs. This is not just movement, albeit ecstatic, it is a cleansing of all blockages throughout the chakras. Starting with flowing you are grounding in the 1st and 2nd chakra, the place of the Nigredo, ( the darkening) connection to Earth, connection to any emotions brought on by any sense of lack of connection to others as well as to your own creative fire, then you move into your Solar Pl… Continue

Steve Bollinger What is Ecstatic Dance?

What is Ecstatic Dance? By Steve Bollinger The body has its own wisdom and inteligence of how to move and express itself. From a very early age we begin to experiment with moving around, crawling, then walking, then running and jumping. We become explorers of the world around us and all its wonders. We search out the joys of the world using our bodies, seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling and touching everything in sight. The body becomes the vehicle of our exuberance, our curiosity, our expressi… Continue
